Dear Kate Nash,
Pandora introduced us the other day, and I’m so glad for that. I liked you so much that I even gave you your own station. I watched a few of your videos. I wondered if the only thing that set you apart from Feist and Regina Spektor was that charming accent you’ve got. But after hearing your whole album (released in the US in January ’08), Made of Bricks, I’m kind of sweet on you. In fact, you’re stupidly cute. Not like you’re stupid, but you make me stupid because you’re so cute. I mean, seriously, just take a look at you:

Whilst stuffing your face, you are still cute.
Let’s put aside for a moment the less savory things Pitchfork says about you. I liked it when they said your songs are like “tiny romantic comedies that could affect even the snobbiest art-house connoisseur.” It’s true, and it’s just what I need right now to keep me up when there is so academic stress dragging me down. Ryan Dombal over at Pitchfork seems to criticize your producers more than you. But I guess I don’t know you well enough yet to say that your producers ruined you.
I like your dresses and freckles and haircut and whimsical/thoughtful lyrics that somehow don’t seem forced. And your videos also turn me into a dunce:
You and Wesley Goode are a pretty charming pair. The cats? Hilarious, but a little much–maybe you could just explain it to me? OH! And those primary color outfits that you and Wesley sport in that video!?! Don’t even get me started. The combinations I could create from my own clothes are rolling through my brain as I write.
So PLEASE, let’s continue this friendship. I know you just released an album, but do you have any coming up? Get working! Don’t let me down!
Love,
Emily
More cute-musician blogging, please!
i love foundations. i listen to it about once every two seconds. so, when you somehow manage to get this cd for free from your friends at college, you have to send it to me. the end.
