Things I Liked About San Francisco

At this time last week, I was asleep. But my activities last Friday involved walking, trying on clothes I didn’t buy, taking pictures of things I don’t get to see on a daily basis, and thoroughly enjoying the sunshine in San Francisco.

There are beautiful places in the world, but my first visit to San Francisco tossed the city right to the top of my list of “Places I could totally live.” The beers are like $4. DID YOU READ THAT, NEW YORK!? Put “make good beer less expensive” on your list of “Things I can do better as a city.” Thanks. We’re making lists today. I’m not going to make a list of things that make San Francisco superior to New York… I’m just going to make a list of things that I liked a lot about San Francisco while I show you some of the images I captured while visiting.

It’s really sunny there.

People are so friendly and respectful. They make lines to get on the train. It’s so cute and civilized.

The hills are kind of funny. Like whoever made that piece of land thought it would be SOOOOOOO funny to put painfully steep hills all over the place. “Those San Franciscans are just going to laaaaaaaaugh when they see these hills!”

The beers are cheap, and the local brewers are wonderful. Lagunitas Tap Room was relaxing and everyone was super friendly. Russian River has a fantastic restaurant/brewery, and a delicious line-up of beers.

If you do ANYTHING when you visit San Francisco, eat a Roli Roti Porchetta Sandwich. It was probably the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Go to the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm to get yours. They did not pay me to write this. I just feel like it’s a sin if I don’t tell you.

All of the food is really great. I started my trip with an amazing burrito and ended it with In-N-Out Burger. Tough life, right? And there were many other delicious meals in between. I love vacation.

Did I mention the climate? It’s just gorgeous. Sunny, and warm enough. Like the best spring days on the East Coast.

The people that I know that live in San Francisco are wonderful.

The views are amazing in the city and in the surrounding towns. I challenge you to drive around the back roads of Sonoma and Marin Counties and NOT have your jaw drop. Absolutely beautiful.

These are just a few of the things I liked. There are plenty more and I can get plenty more specific. You can look at these and more pictures here. You can read more of my words about my trip here.

Thanks, San Francisco. That was a pretty great visit.
